UPSC CAPF Syllabus 2024 : This exam is set by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The CAPF syllabus comprises two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2 of 250 marks and 200 marks respectively. The CAPF Paper 1 is a General Ability and Intelligence test while Paper 2 is General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension paper. Candidates who will qualify for both the papers of CAPF AC Exam will be called to appear for the physical ability test and interview. https://www.upsc.gov.in/apply-online

UPSC CAPF  Eligibility Criteria :-

UPSC CAPF Educational Qualification :-

A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree of a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification.

UPSC CAPF Age Limit :-
  • Minimum Age: 20 years
  • Maximum Age: 25 years

UPSC CAPF Written Exam :-

The written exam will be the first stage of the UPSC CAPF AC Selection Process 2023. Applicants should get the qualifying marks in this stage to get selected for the next round of the CAPF AC Selection Process.

Number of papers in CAPF exam :-

  • Paper 1: Objective
  • Paper 2: Descriptive

0.33 marks deducted for each wrong answer only in Paper 1.

CAPF AC Paper 1 syllabus is divided into 6 different subjects.

  • General Mental Ability

  • Current Events of National & International Importance
  • Indian Polity & Economy
  • Indian History
  • Indian & World Geography

General Mental Ability :-

  • Logical reasoning
  • Quantitative ability including numerical ability and interpretation of data.

General Science :-

  • General Awareness
  • Scientific temper
  • Understanding and appreciation of everyday observation scientific phenomena including new areas such as information technology, biotechnology, environmental science.

Current Events of National & International Importance :-

  • Current events of national and international importance in the broad fields of culture, music, arts, literature, sports, governance, issues of societal and development, industry, business, globalization and interplay between nations

Indian Polity & Economy :-

  • India’s political system and constitution, social systems, and public administration, India’s economic development, security issue, human rights, including its indicators

Indian History :-

  • It includes the areas of nationalism growth and movement for freedom.

Indian & World Geography :-

  • It will cover India and the world’s physical, social, and economic aspects of geography.

  • Medium of paper :- English and Hindi
  • Number of questions :- 6
  • Type of questions :-  Objective
  • Duration of exam :- 3 hours
  • Maximum marks :- 200
CAPF AC Syllabus for Paper 2 :-

The UPSC CAPF Paper 2 syllabus is of the descriptive type. You must note that Paper 2 will be evaluated only for those candidates who obtain the CAPF Cut Off in Paper 1.

a weightage of 200 marks which covers Essay, comprehension, and language skills.

Essay :-

     It covers topics of modern Indian history, in particular, freedom struggle, geography, politics and economy, knowledge of issues of security and human rights, and analytical ability.

Comprehension, précis writing & language skills :-

  The topics are Reading Comprehension, précis writing, developing counter arguments, simple grammar, and other aspects of language testing.

Physical Efficiency Test :-

Male :-

  • 100 Meters race :- 16 Seconds
  • 800 Meters race :- 3 minutes 45 seconds
  • Long Jump(only 3 chances) :- 3.5 Meters
  • Shot Put (7.26 Kgs) :- 4.5 Meters

Female :-

  • 100 Meters race :- 18 seconds
  • 800 Meters race :- 4 minutes 45 seconds
  • Long Jump(only 3 chances) :- 3.0 meters
Physical Standard Test (PST) :-

Male :-

  • Height specifications :- 165 cm.
  • Chest girth (Fully expanded) :- 81 cm.
  • Expansion :- 81 cm.
  • Weight Specifications :- 50 kg

Female :-

  • Height specifications :- 157 cms.
  • Chest girth (Fully expanded) :- Not Applicable
  • Expansion :- Not Applicable
  • Weight Specifications :- 46 kg

UPSC CAPF Medical Test :-

After the Physical Efficiency round, comes the UPSC CAPF AC medical standard test 2023 which is required for the candidates to clear.

UPSC CAPF Interview :-

This is a last phase of selection process after medical test. The Interview/Personality Test will carry 150 Marks. Candidates who are short-listed for the Interview/Personality Test, including those shortlisted for Interview/Personality Test.
